My name is Sowmya and I go to school at the University Pennsylvania. I was wondering if there are any study groups around the area, or if there are any people who are interested in possibly starting one.

After three successful spoken Sanskrit workshops, umd_samskritam (in association with UMB Indian Association) will be offering the final weekend workshop for this year on Saturday Oct 7 and Sunday Oct 8 , 2006 from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm . The venue is University of Maryland at Baltimore (UMAB) in downtown Baltimore .
The workshop is FREE and OPEN TO ALL, however you need to register online. No prior knowledge of Sanskrit or any other pre-requisites required. At the end of the two day interactive and fun workshop, you will be able to converse in Sanskrit and you can follow up with weeekly study groups conducted in 4 different locations around DC area. Weekend Workshop at Philadelphia (U Penn)
A 2 day weekend Spoken Sanskrit Workshop is being organised at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA. It is FREE and open to all... the only pre-requisite is enthusiasm! No prior knowledge of sanskrit required.
Date:
Dec 9, Saturday and Dec 10, Sunday
Time:
9 am to 5.30 pm (with many breaks including lunch break )

The workshop will be conducted by Samskrita-Bharati volunteers. It will be highly interactive and participatory and the focus will be on Spoken Sanskrit. At the end of two days, participants will be able to conduct basic conversations in Sanskrit.
