|
|
Friends,
I am really ashamed to ask this, but having not respected my sanskrit (or is it samskrit?) teacher during my schooling, which I now badly regret, I retain almost zero gyan delivered by him. I cannot even pronounce this word correctly as a punishment for that.
So, is it Sa'n'skrit or Sa'm'skrit? ('na' in pronunciation or 'ma')
To put it more specifically, what are the rules for an anusvara to be a 'na'
or a 'ma' or 'ang' or 'ann'.... etc. for pronunciation?
I think I figured out the rules for an anusvar before the first 25 consonants
of the varnamala. But I am not able to figure out the rules for
ya, ra, la, va, sha, ssha, sa and ha.
Any pointers will be greatly helpful.
Thanks /sairam |
