Campus Samskritam
Campus Samskritam is a network of students, alumni and faculty with its members spread across several universities in the US. Under the guidance of Samskrita-Bharati , the Campus Samskritam network was founded to foster learning and usage of Sanskrit among students in US universities. We help organize workshops, regular study groups (called bhAShA-vargAH) and other Sanskrit related activities in several places in and around various campuses ( MIT, University of Maryland, Purdue, Stanford) through which students learn to speak in Sanskrit.
vishvavANI is being launched in a complementary role, as a forum for the written word. The first issue (pdf) is being released on the auspicious Guru Poornima Day, July 29, 2007. The articles are also posted at http://vishvavani.blogspot.com. We eagerly await your comments and suggestions. Also, we invite submissions for future publications. Please address all communication to the editor Sowmya Joisa at vishvavani[at]speaksanskrit[dot]org. We thank Dr. H. K. Ramapriyan and Dr. Dhananjay Vaidya for their suggestions and help in proof reading the first issue.

"What can I do to learn to speak Sanskrit" ?
A great opportunity- attend the annual residential camp
Samskrita-Bharati USA is organizing a residential spoken Sanskrit camp this year in Edison, NJ from Aug 31 - Sep 3 (labor day weekend). For details and online registration please visit the Jaahnavii website. The camp provides a wonderful atmosphere to learn and practice Sanskrit in a fun-filled way. The unique advantage for school and university students is the heavily subsidized registration fee. $100 will cover stay, food, instruction and material for the entire camp !! So, don't miss this !!
Attend a workshop in your area
If you cannot make it to the camp, we recommend attending some of the excellent courses conducted by Samskrita-Bharati at various places in USA. See the complete list. The courses present the language in a simple and thoroughly enjoyable manner. If no course is listed in your area, you can easily organize one. Email us at campus[at]speaksanskrit[dot]org and we will be more than happy to help you organize one. Typically the camps and workshops are followed up with weekly area wise study groups.
If you are outside USA
Contact the Samskrita-Bharati's International coordinator at samskritam[at]gmail[dot]com or post a request on our forum to know more about the possibilities. The Samskrita-Bharati website also has information on courses in India and other countries, distance learning, monthly magazines and other such useful information.
